Rondell Crier has received a Creative Work from the Ana & Adeline Foundation, providing studio production support to complete a large-scale installation Veneration of Loss, in partnership with Stove Works. Veneration of Loss is a social artwork series that utilizes art installations to open a series of dialogues about family loss and the cultural impact of murder on communities.

 

This is his third award from the foundation. In 2016, he was awarded a Creative Ventures Grant to support a residency hosted by Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator in Miami, co-sponsored by the Visual Artists Network. During this residency, he processed and developed the conceptual foundation and sketches for Veneration of Loss. In 2015 he received a grant to support his community arts program, Studio Everything.

Rondell currently lives in Chattanooga, TN, where several of his public art sculptures and mural projects are installed. Rondell now engages in revitalization efforts through his community driven creative resource studio project, Studio Everything. He continues his work mentoring young people in both Chattanooga and New Orleans, serving as a professional and creative leader in communities across the nation. He received an associate of the Arts degree from Delgado Community College and studied art at both Dilliard University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Rondell was a YAYA Artist from 1990-1995. He continued as staff at YAYA as the Co-Director/Creative Director from 2001-20013.  During his participation in the program he worked on many large and small-scale commission projects and received opportunities to travel and exhibit in Japan, Germany, Italy, New York, Holland, and numerous cities across the States
